We very seldom buy bread in the grocery store. The taste of homemade bread is so much better than store bought. I admit, I'm spoiled.
Heat water in microwave until it reaches 115° on an instant read thermometer.Add honey and cooking oil, mix well.
Place this in bowl of large mixer.
Then add whole wheat flour, powdered milk, salt and yeast, mix for two minutes with a dough hook.
Then gradually add 4 to 4 1/2 cups unbleached flour or bread flour and mix until the dough comes away from sides of mixer bowl.
Place the dough in covered plastic dough rising bowl.
Let it rise 20 minutes. Punch down then let it rise another 40 minutes
Punch down and divide dough in half and roll out on a lightly floured surface to about a 7" X 13" rectangle.
Roll each half from 7" side like a jelly roll and tuck in edges.
Place in greased bread pans.
Cover and let rise for 45 minutes to 1 hour or until doubled.
Bake at 375° for 30-40 minutes. The temperature should read 190°.Check with an instant read thermometer. If it browns too quickly, cover with foil the last 15 minutes.
Cool completely on wire rack before packing in zip lock bags.
