Aunt Alma's Steak Biscuits

I will never forget the first time I had Aunt Alma's Steak Biscuits. I know she must have thought I was starving and had not eaten in weeks. I could not get enough of this dish. We immediately went home and wrote down the recipe and after a few tries we were satisfied with the results. We have been enjoying this recipe regularly for a very long time. The secret is the biscuits. You must perfect the biscuits. You can find our Biscuit Recipe here Buttermilk Biscuits.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound cubed steak (cut into biscuit size pieces)
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 2 medium onions
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

Heat oil over medium heat in a cast iron skillet.

    Sauté onions until brown.

Drain with a slotted spoon from skillet leaving as much oil
    as possible and set aside.

Dredge cubed steak in flour seasoned with salt and pepper.

Fry over medium high heat until brown and crispy. You may have to
    add more oil for frying.

Serve steak and onions on hot buttered biscuits.
Good served with fried corn and buttered frozen green peas.
