This Spinach Salad is a
cool refreshing salad

This spinach salad is a cool refreshing salad that is good as a stand alone lunch on a hot summer day or as a complimenting salad to the main course. We serve this with our Chicken Salad and Raisin Bran Muffins. A very good light combination. These recipes can be found elsewhere on this site.

Salad :

  • 1 lb spinach
  • 1/2 cup sunflower seeds
  • 6 slices fried bacon (crumbled)
  • 1 hard boiled egg chopped

Dressing

  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup cider vinegar
  • 1/3 cup ketchup
  • 2/3 cups sugar
  • 1 medium onion, grated
  • Put dressing ingredients in a glass jar and Shake well*
  • salt to taste

Toss salad and add dressing just before serving.

*Note: This recipe makes more than enough dressing for one salad.
Add sparingly. Will keep in refrigerator for weeks.

Adjust the above ingredients to suit your own taste.
That’s what makes it your own treasure.
