Amy's Spicy Salsa Recipe

Amy's Spicy Salsa Recipe is a recipe our daughter came up with while in High School. It is a very good spicy recipe that you can't get in a jar from the grocery store. Our grandson eats it with a spoon while its still warm. Go figure.

Ingredients:

  • 1 can Rotel
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 large onion minced
  • 1 jalapeno minced
  • 1/4 cup minced green bell pepper
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • Juice of 1/2 lime
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/4 tsp ground chipotle pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. whole cumin
  • 1/4 cup minced fresh cilantro
  • 1/4 tsp fresh oregano

DIRECTIONS:

Cook Rotel and diced tomatoes with 1/2 of the onion and the remaining ingredients minus the lime juice.

Cook for 20 minutes over medium heat.

Puree and stir in remaining onion and lime juice.

    Chill and serve.
