Shrimp Creole Recipe

This Shrimp Creole Recipe can be adjusted for spice by adding a little more cayenne powder. Add a little at a time so as not to make it too spicy.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 pounds shrimp, peeled and deveined.
  • 1/4 cup onion, chopped.
  • 1/4 cup chopped green pepper.
  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped.
  • 1/4 cup olive oil.
  • 3 Tbsp flour.
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne powder.
  • 1 tsp salt.
  • 1/8 tsp black pepper.
  • 1 16 ounce can tomatoes, chopped and undrained.
DIRECTIONS:

    Peel and devein shrimp, rinse well.

    In a large skillet cook onion, green pepper and garlic in olive oil until tender.

    Stir in flour and seasonings.

    Cook, stirring constantly until slightly brown.

    Add tomatoes and cook until thick.

    Add shrimp and simmer uncovered just until shrimp turn pink.

    Serve over cooked rice.
