Grandma's Peanut Butter Cookies

These Peanut Butter Cookies were baked by my mom for our family and all the kids in the neighborhood. They put a quick halt to whatever games we were playing at the time as we rushed inside to eat them warm. You may have guessed, this was before "TV" was available.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 cups flour
  • 3 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1 Tbsp vanilla
DIRECTIONS:

    Cream Butter in a bowl.

Add white sugar and brown sugar to butter and mix well.

Add the eggs one at a time, mix well.

Mix the flour with the baking soda and salt, add to the egg and butter mixture.

Add the peanut butter and vanilla.

Roll into a ball a little larger than a marble.

Place on an ungreased baking sheet.

Dip a fork into flour and make crisscross design on cookies, pressing out flat.

Bake at 350° for 8-10 minutes.
