Cauliflower with Cheese Sauce

Ingredients for Cauliflower:

  • 1 head cauliflower.
  • 2 cups boiling water.
  • 1/4 tsp salt.
Directions for cooking Cauliflower:

    Remove outer leaves from cauliflower.

    Wash in cold water.

    Place cauliflower in pan.

    Add boiling water and 1/4 tsp salt.

    Cover and cook until tender when pierced with a fork.

    Keep warm while making sauce.

Ingredients for Cheese Sauce:

  • 1 1/2 Tbsp butter.
  • 1/2 Tbsp flour.
  • 1/2 tsp prepared mustard.
  • dash white pepper.
  • 1/2 tsp salt.
  • 1 cup milk.
  • 1 cup grated cheese.
Directions for Sauce:

    Melt butter in a medium sauce pan over medium heat.

    Stir in flour, mustard, salt and pepper.

    Slowly add the milk, stirring constantly to keep flour from lumping.

    When sauce has thickened add the grated cheese.

    Cook until cheese is melted.

    Pour over warm cauliflower.

    Serve immediately.
