Buttermilk Biscuit Recipe

This Buttermilk Biscuit Recipe has been in our family for years. If you are looking for an easy to make recipe for biscuits, you have just found it. These biscuits are great for making our Steak Biscuits. Or you can use them with ham, sausage or biscuits and gravy for a hearty breakfast.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup Butter Crisco
  • 1 cup buttermilk
DIRECTIONS:

Cut shortening into sifted dry ingredients until it looks like coarse crumbs.

Add milk and stir with fork until it is incorporated completely.

Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface.

Knead gently until the dough is smooth and doesn't stick to your hands.

Roll or pat out to 1/2" thick.

    Cut with floured biscuit cutter.

Bake on ungreased baking sheet at 450° for 12 minutes or until brown.°
