Braised Sirloin Tips

"What Everybody Ought to Know About Braised Beef Tips!"



This Braised Sirloin Tips recipe is very good over steamed rice. It is also great over noodles.

Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds beef sirloin tip, cut into 1" cubes
  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 (8 oz.) carton mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 (10 1/2 oz.) can beef consommé
  • 1 cup red wine
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 tsp. onion salt
  • 2 tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water
  • cooked rice

DIRECTIONS:

    Sautee beef cubes in large skillet till no longer red.

    Add mushrooms, consommé, wine, garlic, and onion salt.

    Heat to boiling. Reduce heat cover and simmer till meat is tender (30-60 min.).

    Blend cornstarch and water; stir gradually into meat mixture.

    Cook, stirring constantly till mixture thickens; boil and stir 1 min.

    Serve over hot, cooked rice.
