Biscuits and Gravy Recipe

This Biscuits and Gravy Recipe is very flavorful made with fried bacon or sausage and served over Buttermilk Biscuits for breakfast. The ingredients given are for using bacon, if using sausage, fry up enough for 1/4 cup drippings. You may crumble up the sausage and add it to the gravy at the end or serve on the side.

Ingredients:

  • 6 strips bacon
  • 1/4 bacon drippings(left in skillet after frying bacon)
  • 1/4 cup flour heaping
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 tsp salt
DIRECTIONS:

    Fry bacon until brown and crispy in a cast iron skillet.

    Remove bacon and measure 1/4 cup drippings.

    Place dripping in skillet and gradually stir in flour and salt.

    Whisk until smooth and brown like a copper penny.

    Add milk gradually and stir constantly until thickened.

    If too thin add a little flour. If to thick add milk.

    Serve over biscuits immediately.
