Angel Biscuits Recipe



This Angel Biscuits Recipe is perfect to use for ham biscuits on a buffet or reception table. They can be prepared and frozen before baking then baked right when you need them. This is an excellent choice if you need lots of easy biscuits for an occasion. You might also like to try our Red Lobster Cheese Biscuits.

Ingredients:

  • 5 cups sifted plain flour
  • 1/4 cups sugar
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp soda
  • 3/4 cup shortening
  • 1 package yeast
  • 2 Tbsp warm water
  • 2 cup buttermilk
DIRECTIONS:

    Sift together dry ingredients.

    Stir in shortening.

    Dissolve yeast in warm water and add to buttermilk, then add to flour mixture.

    Mix well.

    Knead on lightly floured board.

    Add flour if necessary.

    Roll to about 1/2" thick.

    Cut with biscuit cutter and brush top with butter.

    Bake at 400° for 15 minutes.

    If you want to bake later, place on a cookie sheet before baking and freeze.

    After they are frozen place in a ziplock bag and return to freezer.
